What Stands Out

  • Works with every tool on EGO's 56V ARC Lithium platform, from mowers and blowers to the Multi-Head power head
  • 5.0Ah and 280 watt hours, the mid-size pack that balances run time against weight at 4.9 pounds
  • Fuel gauge shows remaining charge in 20 percent steps, so you know before you start whether you can finish the yard
  • ARC Lithium design pushes heat away from the cells, which is how the pack holds full power instead of fading late in a charge
  • Shock-resistant housing built for being dropped on concrete and left in a hot garage
  • Charge times scale with the charger: 30 minutes on the Turbo CH7000, 40 on the Rapid CH5500, 100 on the Standard CH2100

What To Check

  • No charger is included, so a first-time EGO buyer needs a charger too, or a kit like the mower or blower that ships with one
  • Only fits EGO 56V tools; it will not adapt to any other brand
  • At 4.9 pounds it is noticeable on a handheld tool, and a smaller pack is easier for long trimming sessions
  • Charging on the Standard CH2100 takes 100 minutes, long enough that a second pack beats waiting

The BA2800T is EGO's 5.0Ah, 56V ARC Lithium pack, and it is the part of the system that actually matters. Tools come and go on a shelf. The battery is what decides whether adding a tool costs you a full machine or just a head.

One thing to be clear about before you order: no charger comes with this battery. It is the pack alone. If this is your first EGO purchase, buy a charger with it, or start with a kit like the LM2135SP mower or the LB6504 blower, both of which ship with a battery and a charger. If you already have a charger on the wall, this is the spare that keeps the yard work moving.

The Numbers That Matter

5.0Ah and 280Wh. Amp hours alone do not compare across voltages, so watt hours are the honest number. At 280Wh this is the mid-size pack in the line: more run time than the small packs, lighter on a handheld tool than the 7.5Ah and 10.0Ah bricks.

4.9 pounds. That weight sits on your arm the entire time you are trimming. On a mower it is irrelevant. On the PH1420 power head with an attachment hanging off the far end, it is the difference between a comfortable hour and a sore shoulder.

Fuel gauge in 20 percent steps. Press the button and you know whether to start the back yard or put a pack on the charger first.

Charge times by charger. Thirty minutes on the Turbo CH7000, one hundred on the Standard CH2100. That spread is large enough that the charger you own changes how many batteries you need.

SpecWhat it decides
5.0Ah / 280WhHow long one pack runs a tool
4.9 lbHow it feels on a handheld tool after an hour
Fuel gauge, 20 percent stepsWhether you start the job or charge first
30 to 100 min charge, by chargerWhether one pack is enough or you need two
All EGO 56V toolsWhether adding a tool means adding a battery

Who It Is For

Anyone already on the 56V platform who has run out of charge halfway through a Saturday. It is the pack that lets the LM2135SP mower, the LB6504 blower and the PH1420 power head with its trimmer and edger attachments all pull from one shelf. For the rest of the yard that never needs a battery, the Flexzilla garden hose and the Melnor XT oscillating sprinkler handle the watering.

The Short Version

The battery is the whole reason to pick a platform and stay on it. One BA2800T runs the mower, the blower and every attachment on the power head, which is what makes a second pack worth more than a second tool. Remember that no charger comes in the box.
