The Numbers That Matter
Blade length, 2.96 inches. That is a deliberate number. A lot of workplace policies and local rules draw their line at three inches, and this sits just under it. Confirm your own state, city and employee handbook before you carry anywhere sensitive, but the spec was picked to clear a common bar.
Blade steel, D2 at HRC59-61. D2 is a tool steel rather than a stainless. The trade is straightforward. It holds a working edge noticeably longer than the soft stainless usually fitted at this price, and in exchange it will spot or stain if it is put away wet. Wipe it down after wet or salty work and it stays clean. That hardness also means re-sharpening wants diamond or ceramic abrasive.
Weight, 2.89 oz. With 0.12 inch blade stock and a 0.43 inch thick handle, this is thin and light enough to sit in a front pocket next to a phone without either fighting the other.
