What This Is
A 52-inch wide rolling tool cabinet: a drawer stack on casters, sized to sit alongside a bench or be wheeled to a vehicle.
Drawer Slides Are What You Are Paying For
Tool boxes look alike and they are not. The slides decide whether a drawer with eighty pounds of sockets in it opens smoothly with one finger in five years or sags, binds and drops. Premium boxes cost what they cost because of ball-bearing slides rated well above what the drawer will hold. This sits in the middle: considerably better than a budget box, not equal to a professional one. For a home garage that is usually the right place to be.
Width Is More Useful Than Height
A wide cabinet lets pry bars, levels, long extensions and clamps lie flat in a single drawer. In a narrow box those live diagonally or not at all, and diagonal storage is how drawers become a pile. Fifty-two inches is the point where most long hand tools fit properly.
Load It From The Bottom
Heavy things low, light things high. A tall cabinet with the sockets in the top drawer and the casters unlocked is genuinely a tipping hazard, and on a sloped garage floor it is worse. Lock the casters whenever a drawer is open.
Check The Floor
Casters are specified for smooth surfaces. Cracked concrete, floor drains and expansion joints stop small hard wheels dead, and a loaded cabinet does not forgive that. If the garage floor is rough, look at the caster size before buying, because that is the detail that determines whether it ever actually rolls.
The Short Version
The sensible middle of the tool storage market. Load the heavy drawers at the bottom and check the caster rating, and it will outlast several cheaper boxes.
