How I got itNot in hand yet. Overview from the published label; hands-on review pending

What I Like

  • Fully disclosed label with no proprietary blends: 8,000 mg citrulline malate, 4,000 mg beta-alanine, 2,500 mg betaine at doses that match the research
  • Informed Choice testing across the brand, with per-flavor, per-lot COAs for heavy metals and ingredient verification linked right on the product page
  • Moderate 200 mg caffeine paired with 200 mg L-theanine, a sane dose for evening training and broken dad sleep
  • 15% military, veteran, and first responder discount through GovX ID

What I Don't

  • At $64.99 for 30 servings it sits at the expensive end of the pre-workout shelf
  • 4,000 mg of beta-alanine per scoop means real tingles for people sensitive to paresthesia
  • Informed Choice is not NSF Certified for Sport; my drug-tested athletes stay on Thorne

Quick ground rule before we start: this is a product overview, not a review. The tub is not in my hands yet, so what follows is a coach's read of the published label and the testing paper trail. Once it goes through the rotation at Black Iron Athletics, the full hands-on review replaces this page.

The Label Read

BULK is Transparent Labs' flagship pre-workout, and the label is the whole pitch. Every ingredient has a number next to it. No proprietary blends, no pixie dust. The page claims over 17 grams of active ingredients per scoop, and the big rocks are dosed where the research says they should be: 8,000 mg citrulline malate, 4,000 mg beta-alanine, 2,500 mg betaine anhydrous. Those three are the most studied performance ingredients in the pre-workout category, and plenty of competitors sprinkle them in at half these amounts.

Caffeine is the part I want to flag. It is 200 mg of PurCaf organic caffeine paired with 200 mg of L-theanine. That is a moderate dose, roughly two cups of coffee, not the 350 mg sledgehammer some brands swing. There is also 300 mg Alpha-GPC, 1,300 mg taurine, and 1,000 mg tyrosine for focus support.

On testing: Transparent Labs states every product undergoes Informed Choice testing, and this page links two COAs, a heavy metals and micro purity certificate plus a separate ingredient verification report, matched per flavor and lot. That is a real paper trail, not a badge sticker. To be clear, my drug-tested athletes stay on NSF Certified for Sport products like Thorne's pre-workout, and I do not describe anything outside that certification as safe for tested athletes.

Who It Is For

The lifter who reads labels and wants full doses of the proven ingredients without a stimulant overload. The 200 mg caffeine level suits dads training after the kids are down. If beta-alanine tingles drive you crazy, 4,000 mg will announce itself. Where it fits in the bigger picture is covered in the Transparent Labs buying guide and the dad stack.

The Honest Math

The tub runs $64.99 for 30 servings, which is $2.17 per serving. Subscribe and Save knocks off $6, so $58.99, or $1.97 per serving. That is premium pricing, but you are paying for doses, not marketing. Military, veterans, and first responders get 15% off through GovX ID verification. Thirteen flavors at last count. Get it here.

Transparency: I am an approved Transparent Labs affiliate and links on this page pay the site. I did not receive this product free, and this overview was published ahead of hands-on testing. The full review is pending.

After Action Report

On paper this is one of the best-built pre-workout labels on the market: full disclosure, clinical doses, moderate caffeine, and a published testing trail. I have not trained on it yet, so this is a label verdict, not a training verdict. The hands-on review lands after it goes through the rotation at Black Iron Athletics.
