Olight Arkfeld Pro

Let me get this out of the way first: this is a recon report, not a review. I do not have an Arkfeld Pro in hand. What follows is my read of Olight's published specs, and the full review lands once I have lived with one for a while.

The reason this light made the recon list is the selector. Most EDC lights do one job. This one puts three tools behind a rotating thumb switch, and that is the whole story.

The Spec Read

The Arkfeld Pro is a flat light, not a tube. Think phone-shaped: 4.72 inches long, about an inch wide, 0.63 inches thick, 3.92 ounces with the built-in battery. It lies flat in a pocket instead of rolling around like a cigar.

The rotating selector moves between three sources. One, a white LED that turbos at 1,300 lumens before stepping down to 420, with a beam that reaches 334 feet. Two, a 365nm UV light rated at 560 to 900mW. Three, a Class 3R green laser at 5mW max. The white light and the laser can run at the same time. On the quiet end, Moon mode holds 1 lumen for 11 days, which is the mode you actually use at 2am in a kid's room.

Charging is Olight's magnetic MCC1A cable on a built-in 1500mAh battery. The body is CNC-machined aluminum, rated IPX7. Waterproof, not submarine duty.

Who It Is For

The UV earns its slot in a house with kids and pets. It finds the stain the carpet cleaner missed, checks a hotel room, verifies the security strip on an ID or a bill. The laser handles pointing: a presentation, a star, the spot on the roof you want the contractor looking at.

Straight talk on that laser: Class 3R means it can hurt an eye. This is not the dollar store cat toy. If your kids are at the age where everything gets grabbed and pointed at a sibling's face, this light lives out of reach. That is not a knock on the tool. It is the same rule as anything else you carry that is not a toy.

The Honest Math

Most colorways run $89.99, with the Black cool white listing at $99.99 at research time. That is a fair price for three tools in one machined body. Heads up on stock: the Black neutral white was out of stock when I ran this recon and a couple of limited editions were sold out, so a live colorway may not stay that way. Olight's own page shows 4.9 stars across 3,320 reviews, for whatever weight you give house numbers.
