Product Information, Not A Review

Specs, pricing and buying notes taken from the manufacturer so you can compare this against whatever else you are looking at. I have not had this one in my hands. When it goes through real use it gets rewritten as a full review, with a rating and my own photos.

What Stands Out

  • 250 hours of continuous play on a single AA, or up to 9 months in Endurance mode
  • 1 ms Lightspeed wireless, which is genuinely indistinguishable from wired in play
  • HERO sensor at up to 12,000 DPI and 400 IPS tracking
  • 3.4 oz, light for a wireless mouse, because an AA weighs less than a rechargeable pack
  • Nano receiver stores inside the mouse, so it survives being thrown in a bag
  • Years old and still the value benchmark in wireless gaming mice

What To Check

  • AA batteries rather than rechargeable, which some people consider a step backwards
  • Small to medium shape only; large hands will find it cramped
  • No RGB, if that matters to you
  • 12,000 DPI is well short of current flagship sensors, which almost nobody actually needs

What This Is

The mouse that has been the right answer at this price for years, and still is.

The AA Battery Is A Feature

Rechargeable mice die mid-session and want a cable. This one runs 250 hours and then takes a battery you already own, in ten seconds, with no downtime ever. For a laptop bag or a kid's setup, that is better than a charging ritual.

Where The Flagship Specs Do Not Matter

Current mice advertise 44,000 DPI and 8 kHz polling. Essentially nobody plays above 3,200 DPI, and 1 ms is already below human reaction time. The G305's sensor is more than the vast majority of players will ever use, which is why it has stayed on recommendation lists through several generations of successor.

Check Your Hand Size

This is a smallish mouse. If you palm-grip with a large hand, it is the wrong shape, and no spec fixes that.

The Short Version

Still the value benchmark. The AA battery is an advantage, not a compromise, and the sensor is more than you will use.
