What Stands Out

  • Haptic Inductive Trigger System replaces mechanical switches, so there is no switch to wear out or double-click
  • Adjustable actuation across 10 levels with a 5-level rapid trigger reset, borrowed from keyboard switches
  • Logitech rates clicks 30 ms faster than the previous generation
  • HERO 2 sensor tracking past 888 IPS and 88 g, up to 44,000 DPI
  • 60 to 90 hours of battery with 8 kHz Lightspeed polling
  • Designed with esports players, which shows in the shape and weight distribution

What To Check

  • Priced at the very top of the category
  • Adjustable actuation is a competitive-shooter feature and does nothing for most games
  • 8 kHz polling noticeably increases CPU load on older machines
  • The haptic triggers feel different from a mechanical click, and not everyone likes it

What This Is

The top of the line, built for people whose ranking depends on it.

What The Haptic Triggers Actually Fix

Mechanical mouse switches wear out and start registering one click as two. Every gamer who has kept a mouse three years knows the double-click problem. An inductive trigger has no physical switch contact to degrade, which is a real longevity argument underneath the performance marketing.

Who Should Buy This

If you play competitive shooters seriously and adjustable actuation is something you would genuinely tune, this is the best in the category.

Who Should Not

Everyone else. Buy the G305 on this same shelf and put the difference toward a monitor, a chair, or games. There is no amount of polling rate that makes a casual player better, and this costs several times what the value pick does.

The Short Version

Genuinely the best in the category, and overkill for almost everyone. The haptic triggers fix the double-click problem for good.
