Why This Line Item Surprises People
Plunge shopping starts with the tub, because the tub is the thing you look at. Then the chiller adds thousands, the filters add a subscription, and the electrical adds an electrician. Our own build came in around $29,000 for a sauna and two XL plunges, and the chillers are a meaningful part of that number.

Sizing Honestly
1HP is a commercial spec. It exists to pull an XL tub back down to temperature after several people have been in it, in a room that may be warm. A single home user plunging once a day in a small tub does not need this much machine, and LIT sells smaller units for that reason. Buy the chiller that matches the tub and the traffic, not the biggest one on the page.
The Short Version
The line item people forget. Match the horsepower to the tub size and how many people use it, and remember the filters are a subscription.
