What Stands Out

  • Two independently rotating heads cover a wider area than any single-head projector
  • Three effects in one: snowflakes, drifting snow and snow dots, layered together
  • Covers 126 to 590 square feet at a 9.8 to 32.8 ft throw, which fits most front elevations
  • 6 hours on, 18 hours off timer runs the whole season unattended
  • IP65 head rated from -13F to 90F, which matters in actual December weather
  • Ground stake, wall mount or base, plus a 16.4 ft cord

What To Check

  • Only the head is IP65; the adapter is IP44 and needs a sheltered spot
  • Washes out badly against porch lights, streetlights or a bright neighbor
  • Needs a pale, relatively flat surface to project onto
  • Snow effects on a dark brick house are close to invisible

What This Is

Falling snow on the front of the house, for people who live where it does not actually snow. In Texas that is most Decembers.

Check Two Things Before You Buy Any Projector

First, the surface. Light stucco, a white garage door or a pale gable works. Dark brick, deep-colored siding or heavy texture swallows the image, and no amount of brightness fixes it.

Second, the competing light. A porch light on the same wall, or a streetlamp, washes a projector out completely. If you cannot turn the porch light off, aim the projector at a different plane of the house.

Mind The Adapter Rating

The head is IP65 and will take weather. The adapter is only IP44, which means it needs to sit under an eave, in a covered outlet box, or somewhere water does not pool. That detail is in the fine print and it is the part that fails in a hard freeze.

The Short Version

Falling snow for a climate that does not have any. Only works on a pale wall with the porch light off, and keep the adapter under cover.
