Product Information, Not A Review

Specs, pricing and buying notes taken from the manufacturer so you can compare this against whatever else you are looking at. I have not had this one in my hands. When it goes through real use it gets rewritten as a full review, with a rating and my own photos.

What Stands Out

  • 4:3 aspect ratio with a 180 degree view, which shows a parcel on the doorstep that a 16:9 doorbell crops out
  • 2K with HDR and 3D noise reduction for low light
  • 5 GHz WiFi support, which many doorbells lack and which fixes a lot of streaming problems
  • Plug-in chime included with 10 tunes and adjustable volume, so no existing chime wiring is needed
  • Preset voice messages and automatic replies for when you cannot answer
  • Wired, so there is no battery to recharge

What To Check

  • Wired means existing doorbell wiring or running some, which rules out some houses
  • A 15 degree wedge kit is included but aiming a wired doorbell is still fiddly
  • A smaller ecosystem than Ring or Nest, so fewer integrations
  • Setup is more technical than the big-brand equivalents

What This Is

The doorbell for people who do not want a monthly bill.

The 4:3 Sensor Is The Underrated Spec

Most doorbell cameras are widescreen, which is the wrong shape for a doorway. You get a lot of the neighbour's yard and you cannot see the parcel on your own step. A 4:3 sensor is taller, which is what a doorway actually is.

Wired Versus Battery

Wired means no recharging ever, and a stronger constant connection. It also means you need doorbell wiring, and if your house has none this is the wrong product. Go look at your existing doorbell before ordering.

Why 5 GHz Matters

Most doorbells are 2.4 GHz only, which is the crowded band. If your front door is far from the router and the video stutters, 5 GHz support is the fix. If the door is far away, 2.4 GHz reaches further. Having both is the point.

The Short Version

No subscription and a 4:3 sensor that actually shows your doorstep. Needs doorbell wiring, so check what is behind your current one.
