What Stands Out

  • Two 4MP lenses giving 2.5K, which covers a wide view and a detail view at the same time
  • Dual network: 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi plus a wired RJ45 ethernet port for a connection that does not drop
  • 24/7 continuous loop recording rather than clips only
  • Full-color night vision to 98 ft, so you get color detail rather than grey infrared
  • AI detection for people, vehicles, pets and flames, with three sensitivity levels and custom zones
  • Siren and spotlight deterrence with full-duplex two-way audio, IP65 rated

What To Check

  • Plug-in powered, so it needs an outlet or a run; this is not a wire-free camera
  • Full-color night vision depends on the spotlight being on, which is visible to anyone outside
  • Dual-lens footage takes more getting used to in an app than a single view
  • IP65 is weather resistant rather than fully sealed

What does a dual-lens camera give you?

Two views at once: a wide shot that shows the whole scene and a second lens for detail. The practical result is that you can see both that someone walked up the drive and what they were carrying, which a single camera forces you to choose between by how you aim it.

The ethernet port is the underrated spec

Nearly every consumer security camera is WiFi only, and nearly every complaint about security cameras is a connection complaint: dropped streams, missed events, an app that spins. A camera with an actual ethernet port can be wired where it matters most — a front door, a driveway — and simply never has that problem.

If you can run a cable, run one.

Flame detection

Unusual, and worth noting. A camera that recognises fire is a meaningful addition in a garage, a shop, a barn or anywhere with equipment charging overnight. It is not a smoke alarm and should not replace one, but it is a second signal in places people do not put smoke alarms.

Who should skip it

If there is no power at your camera location, this is the wrong product entirely — look at the solar and cellular cameras on this shelf. Wired cameras are better in every way except where the wire has to go.

The Short Version

The ethernet port is why to pick this one, because most camera complaints are WiFi complaints. Needs power, so it is not a wire-free option.
