Set Expectations Correctly

This is a mattress protector with airflow, not a cooling device. It will not feel cold. What it does is keep sweat and spills out of a mattress you paid real money for, and breathe better than a plastic-backed protector.

If protection is your actual goal and cooling is a bonus, this is a sensible buy. If you are hot at 3am, you need a wicking-treated topper at minimum, and probably an active system.

Where It Fits In A Sleep Setup

Bottom of the stack. Mattress, this pad, then a cooling topper if you need one, then sheets. Every layer you add between your body and the mattress reduces whatever the mattress itself was doing, so keep the stack short.

The Short Version

A protector first and a cooling pad second. Right buy if you want to keep sweat out of a good mattress; wrong buy if you are looking for a cold surface.
