This is book 3 of Dungeon Crawler Carl. The series is one continuous story rather than standalone entries, so there is no version of starting here that works. Begin with book one, which is the one I have actually reviewed.
Audiobook or print
Jeff Hays narrates every book in the series, which is the main reason to stay on audio once you have started there. Switching formats mid-series means losing the voices you have had in your head for several books, and readers who do it generally regret it.
