What This Is
A beverage refrigerator rated for outdoor installation, sized for a standard 24-inch outdoor kitchen bay.
Why This Is Not Just A Fridge In A Different Box
Indoor refrigerators are built on the assumption of a stable, dry, roughly 70-degree room. Outside, they face humidity, overnight temperature swings and direct heat, and they respond by rusting, failing to hold temperature, and dying young. An outdoor rating means sealed electronics, corrosion-resistant materials and a compressor sized for the heat. It is the difference between an appliance that lasts a decade and one that lasts two summers.
Rated For Outdoors Still Means Under Cover
Outdoor rated means it tolerates outdoor conditions, not that it can sit in the rain. It needs to be under a roof, a pergola with real cover, or built into a counter with a solid top. Standing water and direct weather will end it regardless of the rating.
Power And Winter
Outdoor circuits need GFCI protection, and that is worth having done properly rather than run from an extension cord. If you live somewhere with a real winter, check the minimum ambient operating temperature: many outdoor fridges stop working correctly below a threshold and need to be emptied and shut down for the season.
The Short Version
If the bar is outside, this is the category you have to shop in. Putting an indoor fridge on a patio is the single most common and most expensive mistake in outdoor kitchen builds.
