What Stands Out

  • 450 lb capacity on a heavy-duty steel frame, double the light-duty wagons
  • All-terrain wheels with dual bearings that roll over sand, grass and gravel rather than ploughing into them
  • 200 litre basket roughly 33 by 18.5 by 14 inches, deep enough for a folded canopy
  • Handle adjusts through 90 degrees and locks, so tall and short adults both pull it without stooping
  • Handle rebound keeps the wagon upright when you let go instead of crashing down
  • Folds via an internal drawstring to 12 by 7 by 22.8 inches and weighs 15.43 lbs

What To Check

  • 15.43 lbs empty, which you notice lifting it into a trunk
  • Bigger folded footprint than the light-duty wagons
  • No brakes here either
  • All-terrain wheels are wider, so it is less nimble in tight aisles

What This Is

The wagon for sand, rough grass and genuinely heavy loads.

All-Terrain Wheels Are The Whole Purchase

On pavement, every wagon works. On a beach, or a field after rain, small hard wheels dig in and you end up carrying things anyway. Wide wheels on dual bearings is the difference between a wagon that solves the problem and one that becomes the problem.

The Handle Detail Is Better Than It Sounds

Ninety degrees of locking adjustment means a 6'2" dad and a 5'4" one can both pull it comfortably. I am 5'4", so I notice this on everything: gear designed around one assumed height is gear half the household finds awkward. And the rebound that keeps it standing instead of slamming down on the gravel is the kind of detail you only appreciate on the twentieth trip.

Still No Brakes

Same caution. Loaded to anything near 450 lbs on a slope, this wagon is going wherever gravity wants.

The Short Version

The one for sand and rough fields, where small-wheeled wagons quit. Heavy empty, and like all of them it has no brakes.
