Up front: this is a recon, not a review. I have not carried this pack yet. This is my read of NOMATIC's published specs, owner to owner, and the full review lands once I have lived with it.
One housekeeping note first. If you came looking for the Navigator Premium Backpack, it is gone. NOMATIC's page for it is dead. The current flagship in the line is this one, the Navigator Pack 15L.
The Spec Read
The material is the headline. 840D ballistic nylon, water resistant, with tamper resistant zippers. That is the same class of fabric you see on bags built to get dragged through airports for a decade, not the thin stuff on mall backpacks. At 2.7 pounds for a 19 by 12 by 5.5 inch pack, it is not the lightest bag in the category, and ballistic nylon is why.
Capacity is 15L that expands to roughly 20L. I say roughly because NOMATIC's own page cannot agree with itself. The headline says it expands to 21L, the spec table says 20L. That is a small thing, but I flag it because you should know what you are buying. Call it about 20L expanded and move on.
The laptop compartment fits up to a 16 inch machine. Inside you get 10 pockets, including an RFID safe pocket, a fleece lined pocket for glasses or a screen, and a hidden pocket with a key loop. Lifetime warranty and repair backs the whole thing.
One caveat: at research time this pack was pre-order only, and only Black was visible. Check availability before you plan around it.
Who It Is For
This is the dad whose day runs commute, office, gym, school pickup, and occasionally turns into an overnight without warning. The 15L base keeps it from becoming a boat on a normal day. The expansion is the escape hatch. If your carry is bigger every single day, look at my writeup on the NOMATIC 20L instead. That is the size I would start from for true one bag travel.
The Honest Math
$279.99 is real money for a daily pack. The math only works if the ballistic nylon and the lifetime warranty do what they claim, which is turn one purchase into ten plus years of service. On paper, that pencils out to less than a cheap bag every two years. Whether it holds up in practice is exactly what the full review is for. If the spec sheet already matches your life, Get it, and check that pre-order date before you count on it for a trip.

After Action Report
On paper this is the daily pack done the expensive, durable way: ballistic nylon, a 16 inch laptop bay, and expansion to roughly 20L when you need it. It was pre-order at research time and I do not have one in hand yet, so this stays a recon until I have lived with it. If you need a bag today, my take on the larger NOMATIC 20L is already up.
