Duke Cannon Ultralight Face Lotion

Quick level set before we go anywhere: this is a product overview, not a review. I have not put this on my face yet. I am a longtime paying Duke Cannon customer, this is next on my list, and the hands-on review comes once I have lived with it. What follows is my read of the published specs, nothing more.

Why is it on the list at all? I already told on myself in the Cannon Balm review. I cannot go to bed with dry skin. If I lay down and my skin is dry, I am getting back up, putting lotion on, and then I can finally sleep. Lotion is part of the bedtime ritual whether I like admitting it or not. So a face lotion from the brand that already owns my nightstand was the easiest add to the list I have made all year.

One housekeeping note. My buy list just said face lotion. The lineup has changed: the older Duke Cannon face lotion with SPF 30 appears to be gone from their site, and the current daily face moisturizer is the Ultralight Face Lotion, which has no SPF. If you need sun protection, plan for it separately.

The Label Read

It is a 3 oz tube built around three ingredients Duke Cannon calls out by name: hyaluronic acid for a hydration boost, aloe vera to soothe dehydrated skin, and squalane to support the skin barrier. The pitch is fast-absorbing hydration and skin protection, which is exactly what I want at 9 pm. It is dermatologist tested and free of parabens and sulfates. The page does not formally specify a scent. Customer reviews describe it as light and clean, and it sits at 4.7 out of 5 from 33 reviews as I write this. That is a good score on a small sample, so take it for what it is.

Who It Is For

Guys like me. You do not have a routine, you have a rule: do not go to bed with dry skin. You want one tube, a short ingredient list, and a brand that does not make you feel like you wandered into a spa. If you want SPF built in, this is not it anymore.
